Deputy Director Planning and Development Department Inspections Division
Tom Wandrie is the Deputy Director for the City of Phoenix Planning and Development Department Inspections Division. Tom holds several professional designations including Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Certified Building Official (CBO) and has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota. He oversees commercial, residential, backflow, elevators, non-permitted construction, civil and Annual Facilities Program inspections. Tom enjoys being able to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. In Inspections, he is focused on process improvements, working within and establishing budgets, handling issues that come up and proactively working to avert issues before they arise, and ensuring a positive morale within the division. Tom is married with three children and he is a big fan of Minnesota football. Go Vikings!

Tom will discuss the adoption process that the City of Phoenix uses including how the new codes are implemented and communicated to the development community, what new codes were adopted including code requirements and amendments that are specific to Phoenix.
