Sam McAllen is a municipal government professional with 30 years of experience serving the residents and business communities of Scottsdale, Glendale and Phoenix. Sam is currently the Economic Development Program Manager for the City of Phoenix's Office of Customer Advocacy and oversees the city's Adaptive Reuse Program.
Sam previously served as the City of Glendale's Development Services Director, Neighborhood and Human Services Executive Director and Code Compliance Director. He was instrumental leading the City of Glendale's staff team and multi-jurisdictional efforts that led to Arizona successfully hosting Super Bowl XLIX and Pro Bowl 2015.
Sam serves on the Board of Directors for Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame, is the stadium announcer at Saguaro High School (six consecutive Arizona State Football Championships) and volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America. Sam and his wife (Maryann) have four children.
Sam will provide information about the City of Phoenix's Adaptive Reuse Program including a program overview, an explanation of policies and incentives that benefit adaptive reuse of existing buildings and will provide examples of successful adaptive reuse projects.
