Scott Mills of Ironwood Mills
Hi, I'm Scott Mills. I love nature, high quality tools and epic adventures. Hello Festool you make me drool. I have been taking things apart and putting them back together since I got my first tool kit at age 6. I love to see how things work.
I spent a good 20 years working as an independent contractor and have worked in all kinds of fields: plumbing, electrical, landscaping, cabinet work, tile, drywall, concrete and woodworking. I have been taking on projects whether I knew what I was doing or not. It forced me to learn how to "figure shit out".
Every project has been different and the repetition of doing that for over 20 years has given me an eye for design, a strong sense of scale, and the ability to trust my intuition.
I love this work because it allows me to combine all the skills I've learned with my wild imagination.
I've always been drawn to nature and am happiest when I am camping under the stars of Southern Utah. I'm a bit unconventional and have deep appreciation for nature and all things creative. Hunting for treasure makes me giddy, which is what led me to transforming trees after spending hours in the desert searching for something unique, a little treasure or something rare. Now I've become something of a log nerd/lumberjack. My favorite thing is to be turned loose on a project and let the material guide my process. I love having the opportunity to give these trees a second life.
