President’s Message, November 2019

President’s Message, November 2019

Hello, and welcome to Winter in Phoenix!   In this message I would like to focus on upcoming events of the CSI Phoenix Chapter.  Let’s look ahead at what we have planned for a fresh new start to the season including happy hour marketing meetings, more interactive programs presented by the CSI Phoenix Programs and Membership Committee’s, and the upcoming Southwest Region conference in April 2020.  So, let’s get started!

I’ll get right to the point we are all busy people so this message will be brief!  Especially this time of year when we are planning our schedules to spend time with friends and family who has time for extra organization events?   When we take time out of our workday to attend an industry organization event, we want to leave with the knowledge that we have improved our personal skill set or learned a new strategy, concept, product or technique that we can use to add value to the industry and within our community.  We should be so excited at the end of the program that we seek out the event coordinator to ask them when the next event is scheduled so we can plug it in to our Google/Outlook/LinkedIn calendars and reminders because we can’t wait to attend the next one!

Well, CSI Phoenix has already had three such meetings since September with speakers who both educated us and provided a positive message for our industry.  Click here to link to the CSI calendar of events page or contact Bobbi Jo Huskey, our fabulous Programs Committee chair for more details!

Here’s a preview of upcoming events you won’t want to miss!

  • 12/12 Next Thursday 6-8PM - December Holiday Party - at The Reference Library!  Bobbi Jo Huskey has a great evening planned for us with dinner, drinks and a white elephant gift exchange MC’d by CSI’s membership chair Jay Harris.
  • Happy Hour Marketing Event (Date TBD – January-ish) after-hours marketing event in a round table setting with one of our industry Pro’s…sort of a “Grill the Advisor” event.  We won't serve a traditional dinner during the presentation but will have hors devours and drinks during the networking – anyone up for sponsoring this event hors devours or the bar or both? Contact Jay Harris at 602-819-8813 or jay.harris@allegion.com
  • CSI Annual Golf Tournament – Hold on to your hats for this year’s tournament, it’s going to be even better and at a new location The Biltmore!   Frank Thomas our Fundraising Committee chair has big surprises in store for this tournament.  Save the date for April 16th.
  • CSI Southwest Region Conference, in Albuquerque NM April 30-May 2nd, 2020.  If you attended this year’s conference you know what a great learning experience it was, as well as a great marketing opportunity!  Save the date block your calendar for this one, I’ll see you there!

And more to come!

I do want to say thank you to all the board members, committee chairs and volunteers for your support.   I am very excited for a fresh start in 2020!  Please find a Board member or Program Committee member we are interested to hear your thoughts!  If you want to be involved, please contact myself or any Board member.  Your chapter needs you!  I can be reached at hunger@fmsolutions.net or by phone at 602-448-5355.    If I don’t see you next week at the holiday party, be safe and have a great holiday!
