My fellow members of the CSI Phoenix Chapter,
It has been my privilege and pleasure to serve you this past fiscal year as your president. My, but where does the time go! If I do say it myself, our Chapter continues on the trajectory of excellence plotted and actualized by my many predecessors. And I leave you in the very capable hands of our President-elect, Mr. Jay Harris. He will lead our ongoing pursuit of the eminence by which this Chapter has built its reputation.
I am relatively new to the building industry community here in Phoenix and so also to this CSI Chapter. As I worked with my fellow Board members I was struck by their professionalism, fidelity, and zeal for each of their respective roles. When I came aboard I tried to identify some of the traits by which we could measure the Chapter's success. There are many hallmarks of course, and I propose these three:
- Financial health
- Membership numbers
- Members' enthusiasm
I'll say simply that we've never been in better financial health, our member numbers remain strong, and the exuberance of our membership is a delight. I maintain this is due to the leadership abilities of our Board, who in turn find the membership a pleasure to lead.
While on the subject of membership, I'll seize this opportunity to welcome again our new members from this past fiscal year. Please accept in advance my apology should I have inadvertently overlooked someone:
- Logan Fougnies, Sundt Construction
- Matthew Johnson, City of Chandler
- Jason Marquez, STO Corporation
- Michael McKee, Hill International
- Jason O'Neill, Lanmor Services
- Allie Peters, Transact Commercial Interiors
- Kimbri Simmons (SPS+ Architects)
We are blessed here in Phoenix with a very active construction marketplace, and I trust we each have overcome the many challenges, both professionally and privately, with which we've been faced this past year. Here's to our continued good fortune!
Barbara Faulwetter
