Greetings CSI Phoenix Chapter members!
I hope everyone is off to a strong start to the new year. I know you all were as happy as I was to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve and put another challenging year to bed. All while visualizing the hopes of a “return to normalcy” as we welcomed 2022. CDC indicators conclude we should reach goal by the 4th quarter of the year. YAY!!!
We were pleased to welcome back the BEX analytics team once again this year to review the construction climate planned for 2022 (and review 2021). Not surprising to see Multifamily and Industrial market segments continued growth for 2022. This mostly due to the mass influx of out-of-state residents and companies now wishing to make Arizona home. This growth climate will keep us all in the construction industry occupied for yet another year. My thanks to BEX and our Programs Committee Chair, Bobby Jo Huskey for coordinating the delivery of the market data presented. Nice job team!
Reminder to each active and perspective member regarding the positive impact our National CSI website can have on those seeking additional CSI membership benefits information. Specific sections relating to “community / membership / certification-learning and standards” are now active. If you have not visited the National CSI website in a while, please do and note the hard work the National team has completed. A stronger “user-experience” is now in play with the latest improvements.
Our chapter is once again excited to participate in the “Future City” competition. This year’s theme is “Waste-Free Future Cities.” Student judging is underway, and review of presentations continue the next week to determine finalists. I am honored again this year to be part of the “judging” committee. It makes me smile to see these students with such passion and pursuit to be the best they can be. There truly is an excitement to viewing the contestant’s models and presentations. We are looking at the future leaders of our industry! If you have the opportunity to join the judging panel next year, I highly recommend the activity. You will have some fun with it. My thanks to CSI member Heather Unger for taking the lead with this year’s event logistics.
With the help of our Social Media/Publicity coordinator, Allie Peters, we are well on the way to finalizing our subscriptions to the popular social media platforms Instagram, and Facebook. A specific CSI Phoenix chapter subscription is about to launch for both sites. This, in addition to already active Linked-in site, will allow us to increase communication of local chapter events, meetings, etc. Yes, we are late to the game with these platform integrations but “better late than never!” My thanks to Allie for her leadership with this initiative. I feel our exposure, as a chapter, will greatly increase due to these active memberships (and will be fun to post on).
REMINDER……SAVE THE DATE – Thursday, April 7th marks the date for this year’s annual CSI golf event! Event flyers, sponsorship opportunities and event day logistical communications have been sent to all active members. As a reminder, we are actively seeking event sponsors! The annual golf event is our #1 fund raising opportunity for the year and we need your help to ensure the event is communicated to all those you encounter.
I thank you all for your continued support of our chapter and welcome you to another great year of CSI activity.
Welcome to 2022!
Jay Harris
