Where We Learn
In the final week of Eco Month 2010, AIA Arizona Committee on the Environment members will be presenting to local elementary school children on what they can do to "Walk the Walk." Students will learn steps they can take to help their schools become more sustainable, as well as information they can take home to encourage their parents to be eco friendly. 10 Steps to Greening Your School
For Architects these events are a must. For product reps this is a great opportunity to take clients or potential clients and to show them your product(s) already installed and ”at work”. If you can’t do that just attend and you will most likely get new ideas for ways of using your product in a “Green Building.
You may contact Tina, tina@aia-arizona.org , Diana, diana@aia-arizona.org , Charnissa, charnissa@aia-arizona.org or Alex, alexandra@aia-arizona.org for further details or, just call any of them at 602-252-4200. AIA Architects please volunteer to help during any of these events. Who knows you may meet someone who will be a potential client.
These are some great events planned to inform the public on everything from environmental products and concerns, to“Green Buildings” to LEED to what sustainability really means.
Last but not least I also mentioned last month that CSI Phoenix has officially joined The President’s Group here in Arizona. One of the services they perform is to send out to all members resumes of anyone in a group who is looking for a job and to advertise those who are looking for employees. If you fall into either category, send your resume/request to: Jamie Strecker, 602-824-5332, JStrecker@FMSolutions.net and she will send it out to all President’s Group member firms/organizations. Just identify yourself as a member of CSI Phoenix.
One last item for you who are interested in some Professional Education. CSI will conduct a series of 3 Webinars the month entitled, “Anatomy of a Specification” They will be held March 16th, March 23rd and March 30th. It costs $150 for all three but the information that you will receive is worth far more than the fee. You can go to the CSI National Web Site to Register and get more information.
See you at our luncheon meeting on Thursday, March 11th at 11:30 A.M.
