- We hosted the 2008 Southwest Region Conference. Not only did host it, but due to the change in timing, we accomplished the planning and execution of the event in less than nine months--almost three months sooner than it has been scheduled in the past.
- We held several educational sessions that generated a significant amount of revenue for the chapter.
- The annual golf tournament was a huge success--attendance met the goals established and a healthy deposit was made for the scholarship program.
Another accomplish, although minor but just as important, was that membership in the Chapter didn’t decline. On the contrary, we had a slight increase in new members. Although the overall increase wasn’t what I was hoping to achieve, the fact that we didn’t have a decline during this trying period of reduced construction and cut budgets is a good indicator that CSI remains relevant in the industry.
We’ll wrap up this year’s success by recognizing those members that have contributed to the success I mentioned above. The CSI Phoenix Chapter Annual Awards Banquet will be held on June 11th at the Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA). The event will kick off at 5:30 PM with a social gathering at the TCA lounge located of the main lobby. At 6:30, dinner will be served in the Lakeside Room overlooking the Tempe Town Lake. Following dinner at 7:30, we’ll recognize those individuals that have contributed to the Chapter’s success this past year.
We’ll conclude the evening with the transition of Chapter leadership from myself to incoming Chapter president, Ken Martinek, CSI, CDT.
Finally, I want to thank each of you for your continued support of the CSI and the, specifically, the Phoenix Chapter.
